HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University volleyball player Liz Holmes has been selected to the All-Great Lakes Region first team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

In addition, NKU’s Kristina Eisenmenger was named the Great Lakes Region Freshman of the Year by the AVCA.

Holmes, a graduate of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, led NKU in kills (471), hitting percentage (.351), blocks (88) and service aces (65) this season. She also had 315 digs as NKU posted a 26-7 record.

Holmes, a 5-foot-10 middle hitter, has recorded 868 kills and 580 digs in two seasons with the Norse. She was tabbed first team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference this year.

Eisenmenger, a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, recorded 375 kills and a .325 hitting percentage in her first collegiate season. She becomes the first NKU volleyball player to be named Great Lakes Region Freshman of the Year by the AVCA.

Eisenmenger, a 6-1 right-side hitter, also earned first team All-GLVC honors as well as GLVC Freshman of the Year accolades this fall. NKU posted a 26-7 record this season.
