Liz Holmes

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University volleyball player Liz Holmes has been selected to the Daktronics All-Great Lakes Region second team.

Holmes, a graduate of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, led NKU in kills (471), hitting percentage (.351), blocks (88) and service aces (65) this season. She also had 315 digs as NKU posted a 26-7 record.

In addition, Holmes was tabbed first team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference this year.

Northwood’s Gorana Maricic was named Great Lakes Region Player of the Year by Daktronics. Maricic was also the 2005 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

The Daktronics volleyball teams are selected by the sports information directors in each of the nation’s eight regions.
