SPRINGFIELD,
Mo. - The Northern Kentucky University women's soccer team ended
its regular season with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Great Lakes
Valley Conference foe Drury on Sunday afternoon.
Sarah Goodman got the scoring started for the Panthers in the
22nd minute, taking a feed from Emily West for what proved to be
the game-winning goal from six yards out. Mandi Little added the
insurance marker in the 61st minute off an assist from Micah Little.
Jenna Kramer made five saves in the loss for NKU, which fell to
12-5 overall and 8-5 in the GLVC. Alayna Fontaine played 16 minutes
of relief in net but was not forced to make a save.
With the loss,
the Norse slipped to the No. 4 seed in the upcoming GLVC Tournament,
and will host No. 5 seed Missouri-St. Louis on
Sunday. Kick-off is scheduled for noon.
