ST. LOUIS – The Northern Kentucky University women’s
soccer team picked up its ninth straight victory Sunday afternoon
by defeating Missouri-St. Louis, 2-0, in Great Lakes Valley Conference
play.
Megan Smith gave NKU (9-0 overall, 5-0 GLVC) a 1-0 lead by
taking a Brandi Doss crossing pass in the 64th minute for a goal.
Smith beat one defender and found the back of the net for the second
straight game.
NKU captain Cara Alldred tallied the insurance goal
in the 81st minute by taking a Morgan Price free kick and heading
a shot into the net for her second goal of the season.
Jenna Kramer
was up to the task in net for the Norse as she made three saves
en route to her fourth career shutout. The Norse were outshot for
the first time this season, as they mustered eight shots against
the Tritons’ 10 attempts.
NKU, ranked No. 9 nationally in
the NCAA Division II poll, returns home Friday to host Southern
Illinois at Edwardsville at 5 p.m. at Wilder. BOX
