INDIANAPOLIS - Quincy
has been selected as the preseason favorite in the Great Lakes
Valley Conference women's soccer poll. The Lady
Hawks collected 168 total points in the poll by the GLVC’s
14 head coaches.
Indianapolis, the 2006 GLVC champion, finished
second in the poll with 145 points. Southern Illinois at Edwardsville
placed third
in the poll with 138 points and collected one first-place vote.
Northern Kentucky University received 132 points for fourth place
in the poll.
NKU posted a 13-4-1 overall record last year. The
Norse were 9-4 in the GLVC last season and were eliminated from
the GLVC
Tournament
in the first round during a penalty-kick shootout at Indianapolis.
