Bob Sheehan

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS,
Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Bob Sheehan has been
named the Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year by the National Soccer
Coaches Association of America.
Sheehan guided
NKU to a 19-3 record this fall and led the Norse to the Great Lakes
Valley Conference regular-season championship. His team later captured
the GLVC Tournament title and earned the No. 1 seed for the NCAA
Division II Great Lakes Regional.
In nine seasons
as the women’s soccer coach at NKU, Sheehan has compiled a
159-33-12 record. He has also led the Norse to six GLVC Tournament
championships and seven consecutive trips to the NCAA Division II
Tournament.
Sheehan is now a finalist
for the NSCAA/adidas National Coach of the Year award. Those recipients
will be announced at the NSCAA Awards Banquet on Jan. 20, 2006,
held in conjunction with the NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia, Pa.
