THE
LAST TIME AGAINST QUINCY: On Nov. 30, 2006, NKU rallied
for a 65-63 win over Quincy in Regents Hall. Quincy held a 59-53
lead with two minutes left, but a conventional three-point play
by Katie Butler and a basket by Brittany Winner cut the Lady Hawks’
advantage to 59-58 with 1:26 remaining. Janette Burgin made a pair
of free throws with 1:06 left to extend the Quincy lead to 61-58,
but Butler drained a 3-point field goal to tie the game at 61-all
with 58 seconds remaining.

and powering in for a basket while being fouled. Graham converted
the ensuing free throw to give NKU a 64-63 lead.
After a missed
shot by Burgin with 10 seconds remaining, Nicole Chiodi grabbed
the rebound and was fouled. She converted one free throw to give

did the bulk of her offensive damage off the dribble, either hitting
short jumpers or driving to the basket.
NKU overcame
a slow start and built a 50-44 lead with 11:44 left on Nicole Chiodi’s
conventional three-point play. Shelton responded with six straight
points to tie the game at 50-all with 8:29 remaining, and Elyse

to be the Norse’s final score. Shelton drew a foul with 1:08
left and hit a pair of free throws to bring SIUE within a point
at 64-63. She then stole a pass by Chiodi and appeared on her way
to a layup, but Winner hustled back and prevented Shelton from scoring
by knocking the ball out of her hands.
