HIGHLAND HEIGHTS,
Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team defeated
Lewis on Friday, 9-0, to secure the No. 2 seed in the Great Lakes
Valley Conference Tournament next weekend.
The Norse dominated
play on the afternoon, with Patricia Brinck, Michelle Schirmann
and Maggie Koetter each surrendering just one game in their straight-set
victories, while Kristen Sunday lost just two.
Schirmann and
Emily Okerson played the closest match of the day, defeating
Lewis's Agata Wojciechowska and Jordan Lynde, 8-6, in the No.
2 doubles flight.
Northern Kentucky
(14-3, 9-1 GLVC) wraps up the regular season on Saturday against
Saint Joseph's. The GLVC Tournament begins April 25 in Indianapolis.
