CINCINNATI
- The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team ran into
a buzzsaw Friday afternoon when the Norse faced Great Lakes Valley
Conference foe Drury.
The No. 19
ranked Panthers defeated the Norse, 6-3, to end NKU's
winning streak at eight matches, but it was a hard-fought victory
by a talented Drury team.
Michelle Schirmann
and Maggie Koetter each claimed singles victories, while Koetter
and Patricia Brink combined for a win in the No. 3 doubles flight.
Kristen
Sunday was up 3-0 in the third set before falling, 6-3, to
Khrystsina Tryboi in the No. 3 singles flight. Emily Okerson
was serving for the match in the second set against Eva Hankova
before falling, 7-4, in a second-set tiebreak and 6-3 in
the third set.
Northern Kentucky
(8-2, 3-1 GLVC) returns to action at home
tomorrow at noon against Rockhurst.
