MISSION, Kan. – The Northern Kentucky University men’s
soccer team is set for its third top 25 showdown of the season
following the release of the NCAA Division II national poll on
Tuesday.
NKU retained its No. 2 ranking for the second week, just
behind Lynn (Fla.), after a pair of road victories. NKU defeated
Missouri-Rolla,
3-0, Friday night before shutting out Missouri-St. Louis, 2-0,
Sunday afternoon. The Norse are 10-0 overall, 5-0 in Great Lakes
Valley Conference play.
Sophomore forward Braden Bishop was honored
as the GLVC Player of the Week after scoring a goal in each win.
The
Norse host No. 15 Southern Illinois at Edwardsville at 7:30 p.m.
Friday in Wilder. SIUE gained six positions in this week’s
poll after defeating Wisconsin-Parkside and Lewis over the weekend.
GLVC
foe Indianapolis also broke into the national rankings this week,
debuting at No. 24.
NKU has already defeated then-No. 16 Lewis
and then-No. 12 Wisconsin-Parkside. The Norse will close out
the weekend Sunday at 2:30 p.m. against
Quincy.
