ST. LOUIS - Haggai Leboo
scored a pair of goals Friday night as second-seeded Rockhurst ended
Northern Kentucky University’s season with a 4-1 win in the
Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament semifinals at the Don Dallas
Memorial Field.
Leboo tallied his first
goal Friday just nine minutes into the game. Rockhurst made it 2-0
at the 18:46 mark when Tom Heinemann finished off a corner kick
by Steve Valenta with a goal.
Adam Johnson made it
3-0 by hooking in a corner kick in the 76th minute. NKU freshman
Tony Ray converted a penalty kick in the 77th minute to cut Rockhurst’s
lead to 3-1, but Leboo added his second goal of the game nine minutes
later to give the Hawks a 4-1 advantage.
The sixth-seeded Norse,
who upset third-seeded Wisconsin-Parkside to advance to the GLVC
semifinals, finished with an 11-8-2 record. Rockhurst improved to
14-4-1.
Earlier this season
at Kansas City, Mo., Rockhurst posted a 5-0 win over NKU.
