HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University soccer teams will both play home games this weekend at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky.

The NKU women will play host to Concord (W. Va.) at 7 p.m. Friday. The Norse men meet Saginaw Valley State at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The NKU women are 0-1 after dropping a 2-1 decision to Lincoln Memorial in the season opener last Saturday. Kristen Votapek scored a goal for the Norse, who lost a season opener for the first time since 1997.

The NKU men own a 1-1 record after posting a 3-1 victory against Mercyhurst last Sunday. David Botos scored a goal and added an assist to lead the Norse.

Chris Thompson collected two assists in that game. Daniel Ertel tallied his second goal of the season for the Norse, while teammate Tony Capurro added an insurance goal late in the contest.

Jeremy Curington had six saves in goal for NKU, which split its two games in the John Toebben Classic, presented by National City.
