Shaffer, a junior transfer from Winthrop, was 10-for-15 in a four-game weekend series against Missouri S&T, helping push the Norse to three wins and a solid position in the GLVC East Division.

In Game 1 of the series, a 15-3 whitewash by the Norse, Shaffer was a perfect 5-for-5 with two doubles and four runs scored. In Game 3, a 5-0 victory, Shaffer went 2-for-4 with two more doubles and a run scored.
