| By Mike Anderson, NKU Sports Information HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team received votes in the NCAA Division II Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll, as selected by the American Baseball Coaches Association. Last year, the Norse started the season ranked No. 21 among the nation’s top 40 teams. Two-time defending national champion Tampa sits atop the poll after a 53-10 season last year. The Norse will face off against the Spartans in a three-game series March 1-2. Great Lakes Valley Conference opponents Southern Indiana (No. 10) and Southern Illinois at Edwardsville (No. 24) were featured in the poll. Last year, the Norse finished 27-26 overall and just missed the GLVC Tournament. NKU will open the season at home Feb. 23 against Grand Valley State. |
