FLORENCE, Ky. - Saint Joseph’s scored four times in the top of the 11th inning Tuesday afternoon to post a 9-5 win over Northern Kentucky University in the second game of a doubleheader at Champion Window Field.

The Pumas took a 6-5 lead when Kevin Diete singled in Joe Panozzo with one out. Saint Joseph’s added three more runs to complete the Great Lakes Valley Conference sweep over NKU.

Kenny Wilson hit his first home run of the season for NKU in the nightcap, while Larry Pempek was 2-for-5 with two runs batted in.

In the opener Tuesday, Saint Joseph’s scored twice in the seventh inning to post a 3-1 win over NKU in the completion of a game that had been suspended after six innings March 28 at Rensselaer, Ind.

Nathan Jones went eight innings on the mound for NKU and had eight strikeouts.

The two teams also attempted to play a third game Tuesday, but lightning and high winds forced the contest to be called in the middle of the third inning with NKU holding a 4-2 lead. That non-conference game will not be made up.

Saint Joseph’s is now 14-14 overall, 8-10 in the GLVC. NKU is 12-18 overall, 10-8 in the GLVC.

NKU will play host to Lewis at noon Friday in a GLVC doubleheader.
