By Mike Anderson, NKU Sports Information INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky University women’s golfers Bianca Hutton and Alicia Lawrence have been selected to take part in the 2007 NCAA II East Regional at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich. Hutton, the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year, and Lawrence will represent NKU as individuals at the regionals and join Southern Indiana’s Tara Wiley as the tournament’s individual players. The NCAA selected Drury, host Ferris State, Grand Valley State, California (Pa.), Indianapolis and Northwood as the team representatives in the tournament. The top two teams in the 54-hole tournament will move on to the NCAA Championships, along with the top two individuals whose teams do not qualify. Hutton is no stranger to Katke. Over her four-year career she has played 11 rounds on the par-72 course, averaging a score of 78.9 and placing in the top ten in four of the five tournaments she has played there. Lawrence is experienced as well, averaging a 77.5 in six rounds of golf over her career. The NCAA II East Regional begins April 30 and runs through May 2. |
