O'FALLON, Mo. - For the second time in eight days, the Northern Kentucky University men's golf team set a school record for the lowest round during the opening day of the Rivermen Invitational on Monday.

NKU shot a 10-under-par 278 to take an 11-stroke lead over both Bellarmine and Indianapolis going into the final 18 holes at the WingHaven Country Club. A week ago at Vevay, Ind., the Norse fired a school-record 277 (-7) to defeat Bellarmine at the par-71 Belterra Golf Club.

NKU's Andrew Jewell shot a 6-under-par 66 Monday and is tied with Bellarmine's Kyle Leach for first place. NKU golfers David Shearer and Clint Kohls each fired 3-under-par 69 Monday and are tied for third.
