WILLIAMSBURG,
Va. - Northern Kentucky University's David Shearer was named
to the Golf Coaches Association of America's PING Division II
All-American team.
Shearer was
a leader for the NKU men's golf squad this season, taking the
GLVC Player of the Year award for the third consecutive season
en route to NKU's second straight GLVC title. Shearer shot a
3-over par 219 at Otter Creek to earn the medal.
Shearer also
medaled in a dual match against Bellarmine on Oct. 1. The senior's
4-under-par 67 matched his best performance of the season, which
he accomplished at Morehead State Sept. 4-5 and again at the
Riverman Invitational Oct 9-10, an event the Norse won. His 140
at the Riverman was good for a second place finish.
Shearer also
placed second at the NKU Fall Invitational, Oct. 10-11, shooting
a 2-under-par 142 in the event.
