COLUMBUS, Ind.
- The Northern Kentucky University men’s golf team shot 294
Monday to take a six-stroke lead into the final round of the Great
Lakes Valley Conference Championships.
NKU is at 591
after the first two days of the 54-hole event at the par-72 Otter
Creek Golf Course. Southern Illinois at Edwardsville is in second
place with a total of 597.
NKU golfers
David Shearer and Clint Kohls are tied for fourth place at 148 (+4)
after two rounds. The Norse’s Michael Kessling is tied for
ninth place at 149 (+5).
The final 18
holes will be played Tuesday. NKU is the defending GLVC champion.
EDINBURGH, Ind.
- Northern Kentucky University women's golfer Bianca Hutton entered
the clubhouse tied for the lead after round one at the Great Lakes
Valley Conference Championships at Timbergate Golf Course after
Monday's opening day of competition.
Hutton shot
a -1 (71) on day one and shares top billing with Julie Cline of
SIUE. The Norse ended the round just one stroke off the lead pace
with a +17 (305), trailing Drury and Indianapolis for the overall
lead.
Alicia Lawrence
shot a +5 (77) after one round of play to finish seventh. Sofie
Rasmussen tied for 10th with a +6 (78), while Lyndsey Bevill rounded
out the team scoring with a +7 (79), good for 14th. Nicole Hess
ended day one in 35th at +13 (85).third place
The final round
will be played Tuesday.
