NKU MEN REMAIN IN LEAD AFTER 36 HOLES - May 2, 2006
Norse own one-stroke lead over Saginaw Valley State going into final round
 

LOCKPORT, Ill. - Northern Kentucky University holds a one-stroke lead over Saginaw Valley State after two rounds of the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Super Regional at the par-72 Prairie Bluff Golf Club.

NKU entered Tuesday leading the event by eight strokes, but Saginaw Valley State totaled 293 in the second round to cut the Norse (300 score on Tuesday) advantage to one stroke. After 36 holes of play, NKU is at 588, while Saginaw Valley State is at 589.

Norse golfer Mark Krahe has shot rounds of 71-74 and is tied for third place at 145. NKU’s Jon Ehlen is 10th at 148. The Norse are looking to win their third consecutive NCAA II Great Lakes Super Regional championship.

The final round will be played Wednesday. The Great Lakes Region winner will advance to the NCAA Division II national finals at Daniels, W. Va.
