LOCKPORT, Ill. - Northern Kentucky University completed the opening round of the NCAA
Division II Great Lakes Super Regional with an eight-stroke lead after totaling 288 Monday at the par-72 Prairie Bluff Golf Club.

Three NKU golfers - Jon Ehlen (71), Mark Krahe (71) and Jerod Cahill (72) - are among the top five individuals after one round of the 54-hole tournament. Ehlen and Krahe trail opening round leader Steve Larson (69) of Grand Valley State by two strokes.

Saginaw Valley State totaled 296 and is in second place. Grand Valley State is third with 299 after one round.

The second round will be played Tuesday.
