NORSE HIT ROAD FOR THREE MATCHES

NKU plays at KWC, UW-Parkside and Lewis this week

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University volleyball team will play three road matches this week, beginning with an 8 p.m. Wednesday visit to Kentucky Wesleyan College.

The Norse also play at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside at 8 p.m. Friday, followed by a 3 p.m. match at Lewis University on Saturday.

NKU is 8-6 overall, 1-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse dropped a four-game decision to the University of Southern Indiana last Saturday in Regents Hall.

NKU senior outside hitter Kristin Koralewski leads the GLVC in hitting percentage (.350) and is second in kills (4.19 kpg). She enters Wednesday with 1,144 kills, which ranks eighth in Norse history.

Koralewski needs 40 kills to pass Peggy Ziegler (1,183 career kills) for seventh place on the NKU all-time list. She also has 981 career digs at NKU and is looking to become just the sixth player in Norse history to record both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.

NKU freshman middle hitter Liz Holmes ranks second in the GLVC in hitting percentage (.348) and seventh in kills (3.75 kpg). Norse sophomore setter Andrea Lanham is second in the GLVC in assists (12.19 apg), while junior outside hitter Lynne Fischesser ranks No. 4 in service aces in the GLVC with 0.54 sapg.

NKU is 28-0 in the all-time series against Kentucky Wesleyan. The Norse have never lost (18-0) to Wisconsin-Parkside and own a 24-11 lead in the series with Lewis.
